Description
I just purchased this antique Ch. Field Haviland porcelain teapot from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The teapot is beautifully executed with crisp mold and nice cast detail to the acanthus fluted spout, arched handle and scalloped top rim. The bright white ground features a striking floral design by decorating studio / artist "JACQUES TEYSSIER PORCELAINS" and bears the gold "S.R.J. NORIAC" "TJ" "LIMOGES" pictured mark. The teapot is highlighted with 24K gold enamel banding which is bright with no noted wear. The piece has a nice presence measuring 9 ½" high, 9 ½" from spout to handle and 6" wide. The base also bears the vintage "CH. FIELD HAVILAND" under glaze red circle mark. Both the First Quality pot and lid are in excellent condition with no damage. This lovely Art Nouveau inspired Jacques Teyssier design would make a fine addition to your collection of early 1900's Haviland Limoges porcelains.
