Our popular Nambu tetsubin "Maruarare" has been newly created in seven colors.
The original tetsubin was lacquered in jet black, but the colored version is a special order only available at Montagne. The original Nambu ironware was lacquered in jet black, but the colored version is a special order only available at Montagne.
Nambu ironware is originally made with a process called "iida" (cast iron), which visually brings out the best of the iron material.
This color ironware is no different. When you take a closer look at the actual piece, you will notice that it is different from ironware that has simply been colorfully painted.
Each color is further coated on top of the jet-black coloring.
The surface is then painstakingly polished by hand by craftsmen to bring out the underlying color.
After this meticulous process, the texture of the cast surface is created, and colored ironware is finally born.
This teapot with a tea strainer can be used as a kyusu (teapot).
The 0.6 liter capacity is ideal for brewing tea for two to three people.
Nambu ironware easily absorbs iron and mellows water, but it is also susceptible to rust and requires care.
This one has an enameled interior finish, which does not leach iron but is easy to clean.
*Please do not burn the pot empty.
